Below is the link for reading comprehension practice. After you choose a passage, fill in the blanks using the words at the top of the passage as your read the passage. Start with 2nd grade passages and move up as you go. Do not go on to the next passage until you have correctly completed to the one you're on. Keep track of the passage you're on in your reading notebook.

UNRAAVEL
We sometimes use the UNRAAVEL strategy to give us a better understanding of passages and stories we are reading. The UNRAAVEL steps are listed below:
Underline the title
Now make a prediction
Run through and number the paragraphs
Are you reading the questions?
Are important words circled or underlined?
Venture through the passage
Eliminate silly answers
Let the questions be answered
It's very important that these steps are followed correctly. It is also necessary that students prove where they found their answers in the passage by hi-lighting or underlining where they found their answers and by writing the paragraph number where the answer was found by the question. A PowerPoint better explaining UNRAAVEL is attached below.
